Abstract:The Application of the thermal analysis technique and some commonly methods were introducd, such as thermogravimetry analysis, differential thermal analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, thermo-mechanical analysis and so on. The application prospects and future trend of thermal analysis technology were described, including the application of comprehensive thermal analysis technology and the coupled techniques with mass spectrometry, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy,gas chromatography and X-ray diffraction. The applications of thermal analysis technology were introduced in rare earth functional material, for example measure the curie temperature of the rare earth magnetic materials and the phase transition temperature of the rare earth hydrogen storage alloys.
