Abstract:High silicon aluminium cladding layer was prepared by laser cladding on 1050 aluminium alloy surface with LWS-1000 Nd:YAG laser. The effects of different laser power and scanning speed on the quality of the cladding layer were explored, the microstructure of the cladding layer was analyzed, and the hardness and wear resistance of the cladding layer were tested. The results show that the high silicon aluminium cladding layer prepared under the optimized process parameters has good bonding with the matrix, compact structure, no pore and crack. There are a lot of primary silicon in the cladding layer, and no obvious eutectic structure is found. The cross-section hardness of the cladding layer reaches 245 Hv. After wear resistance test, the wear resistance of the cladding layer is obviously improved compared with that of the matrix.
