Research of the Energy Consumption and Carbon Emissions for Copper Tube Extrusion Process

Abstract:With the severe shortage of the worldwide energy and resources, the energy consumption as well as the usage rate of resources is becoming as equivalently important as the cost of product production, the quality control of manufacturing, such as plastic forming process. The energy consumption and carbon emissions of copper tube extrusion were investigated, and the effect of different process parameters on the energy consumption was also analyzed for cold extrusion and hot extrusion process. Taking into account the auxiliary process of the part manufacturing, the comprehensive energy consumption of cold extrusion is much less than that of the hot extrusion.
