Abstract:The damping alloys not only have the physical property of converting mechanical vibration energy into heat energy and dissipating it, but also have good mechanical property. If the damping alloys are manufactured into mechanical parts and applied to the equipment, they can effectively control the vibration and noise generated during the operation of equipment, so they have significant engineering application value. This article summarized the damping mechanisms of multiphase type, dislocation type, twin-boundary type, ferromagnetic type and Fe-Mn based damping alloys, and summed up the factors that affect the damping capacity of the above alloys and ways to improve that. At the same time, the comprehensive performance of the above-mentioned damping alloys was compared, and the development trend of damping alloys was prospected.
